Estate antique music album book for the piano. The book was edited and published in 1868 by Jules Berr. The leather bound book is gilt decorated on the front cover and the spine. Inside is the real treasure. It is filled, not only with the music of the time, but every other page has an advertisement from a local Philadelphia merchant. Wonderful Victorian era graphics on each ad. Every business you can imagine, from sewing machines, tonic, furniture, clothing, baby carriages and so much more. It is a treasure trove of Philadelphia history. There are 162 numbered pages. It measures 13-1/4" tall by 10-3/4" wide and 1" thick. Estate antique condition. Cover and spine show wear. Spine is missing some of the leather covering, see images. The binding is holding tight inside. No missing pages. Pages have yellowed and have age related spots. Original owner wrote their name on the inside first page in pencil. Its the content that is priceless. Please take a look at the photos and use the zoom feature as they show details best.
