Easton Press collector's edition of a volume first published in 1905. Mary Boykin Chestnut's "A Diary from Dixie". She was the wife of James Chestnut Jr, a senator from South Carolina and a Brigadier General/Aide to Jefferson Davis during the Civil War. Covers events from 1860 to 1865. The book comes in a very nice decorative slipcase Measure approximately 6" x 8.25" x 1.5" thick. Printed in the USA on archival quality paper and fully bound in genuine leather. Sewn pages with moire end-pages and a satin ribbon page marker. Gilded page ends. Condition is like new. Comes with unattached, unused bookplate.
