The item was wrapped securely in tissue and in a plastic bag to keep it from being dented or impacted by any liquids. Item was as described. Shipping took a bit but it's an Xmas gift, so still arrived in plenty of time. Very lucky seller used copious amount of bubble wrap, as USPS clearly treated the box like the opening scene from Ace Ventura, but the item inside survived the journey.
